The lawsuit by the parents of a Mexican teenager who was shot and killed by an El Paso Border Patrol agent in 2003 was postponed, court documents showed.
The civil trial in the suit filed by Cesar Peraza Barraza and Ramona Irene Quijada Soto, parents of Juan Patricio Peraza, against the U.S. government was to have started last Friday in federal court in El Paso. The case, which will he heard by a judge, not a jury, was postponed because of a scheduling conflict, lawyers involved said.
